AI limitations

AI Guidance Disclaimer

Ask Philos provides AI-generated spiritual reflection support. It is limited, fallible, and not a substitute for human care.

1. AI-generated guidance

Philos is an AI companion, not a person, clergy member, spiritual director, therapist, doctor, lawyer, financial advisor, emergency responder, or representative of any faith tradition. AI-generated responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, biased, poorly suited to your circumstances, or insensitive to your community or tradition.

Use responses as prompts for reflection, not as commands, divine instruction, professional advice, or final authority over your conscience, relationships, safety, health, finances, legal rights, or faith commitments.

2. No divine authority

Ask Philos does not speak for God, the divine, any religious authority, clergy body, denomination, temple, mosque, church, synagogue, sangha, teacher, lineage, or tradition. A response from Philos should not be treated as revelation, prophecy, confession, absolution, sacramental guidance, pastoral judgment, or binding doctrine.

3. Scripture and source caution

Philos may discuss scripture, sacred texts, wisdom literature, religious history, theology, ethics, and spiritual practices. It may misquote, misattribute, oversimplify, mistranslate, omit context, or blend viewpoints in ways that do not match a tradition's teaching or your community's practice.

When scripture, doctrine, ritual, conscience, community obligations, or major life decisions matter, check primary sources and consult trusted clergy, spiritual directors, teachers, elders, family, or community leaders.

4. Multilingual and sacred translation caution

AI translation and multilingual discussion can lose meaning, especially with sacred languages, liturgical phrases, poetry, names of God, technical theological terms, idioms, and culturally specific practices. Treat translations and language explanations as provisional and verify them with reliable sources or qualified people.

5. Not professional or emergency help

Ask Philos is not therapy, medical care, legal counsel, financial advice, crisis response, abuse intervention, or emergency service. It may fail to recognize self-harm risk, violence, coercion, abuse, medical problems, legal risk, or other serious situations.

If you may harm yourself or someone else, feel unsafe, are experiencing abuse or coercion, need urgent help, or face a medical, legal, or safety emergency, contact emergency services, crisis support, trusted local help, or a qualified professional immediately.

6. Human support is encouraged

For grief, conflict, spiritual distress, mental health concerns, family issues, abuse, coercion, trauma, doctrine, ritual, or major decisions, seek support from trusted people in your life and community. AI can be a reflective tool, but it should not isolate you from real clergy, professionals, family, friends, and community care.

7. Report concerns

Report harmful, inaccurate, unsafe, or spiritually insensitive outputs to safety@askphilos.com or support@askphilos.com. If there is immediate danger, contact emergency services first.
